Many homes out there have smaller rooms rather than larger spacious ones. No need to fret, you can make a small room appear larger with a few tips. Believe it or not, there are many individuals whom hate the larger rooms because they feel it's too large and even want to make the space smaller.

To fix this short of situation you have several different ways you can go about it. Following are some examples that will start you out.

If you have a bunch of clutter around the room, pick it up. Clean out those old papers you have laying around, pile up the blankets too, remove whatever you don't need in that room. Plus with the furniture you should move them further from walkways; this will open up a room very nicely.

Use colors that are tone-on-tone. Cool colors will open up a room and coordinated colors matching the value of your walls, furniture, drapes and rugs will unify and enlarge the room. Choose the softer greens and blues.

Try to avoid dark colors in a smaller room because it will just make the room seem smaller than it actually is. Light colors will reflect the lighting and make it expand. If you are looking to add darker colors, add a picture with darker paint. You can use light paint on the walls but then place darker decor around if you aren't into the bright colors.

Add some rugs into the room with more color in them. If you're fixing up a small space you should have one rug that is large in the room. Trying only small rugs in the room will make the room appear more chopped up.

It's very nice when you purchase an area rug because it's something which can be moved and replaced rather than furniture or carpet. You can pay very little for area rugs which have designs or even just a basic solid color. You won't understand the difference the rug will make you feel once you place it into a smaller room.

The colors in my area rug were rich, deep tones that gave a feeling of comfort and warmth. The design of the rug was very artful, rather like a large painting for the floor. We found that trading out the big wood table for one that had a glass insert made a huge difference to opening up the room and you could enjoy the rug by looking through the table.

Bringing in a large rug will also expand your area that is small; it will appear as much larger. Pick out a smaller size of furniture, and with lights being placed correctly the room will now look as it has more depth. That easy, with just adding an area rug, this space has been transformed into something beautiful.
Author Resource:- Home Decorating experts all agree that it is essential to use area rugs. And as discussed here one of the most popular ranges is the flokati rugs.
